Beloved historical Christian author, Ann H. Gabhart has a new release, and I was so excited to talk to her about her book, When the Meadow Blooms, and to talk about her love for story, for Kentucky, and for nature, as well as how they infuse her stories.

This Author Brings a Ray of Sunshine and A Bunch of Hope

Only an author like Ann H. Gabhart can write a story that is both unique and parallel to current history.  Set after the Spanish  Flu pandemic,When the Meadow Blooms captured my imagination the moment I started reading. Ann's description of nature, of her Meadowland, and the delightful little girl who drew birds to dot her I's and a long-tailed mouse at the bottom of her letters promises a read like no other.

I haven't even met Dirk yet, and I already love the lonely recluse. Oh, and that's an important thing to remember... the "Look Inside" sample is already available on Amazon!  EEEP!

We also chatted about some of her other books (let's pester the publishers for more Hidden Springs Mysteries!) and the way her faith elements work their way into the stories. Hint: this book is more of a "and a little child shall lead them" than the wise, old sage we usually see from her.

Like most of her books, When the Meadow Blooms is available on Kindle, in paperback, and on audio! Furthermore, you can get the paperback for just about a dollar more than the Kindle version (and FREE SHIPPING!) if you order from Baker Book House before May 3, 2022.  After that, the price goes up a little (but is still 30$ off retail). We just don't know about the shipping.  So, it's something to think about.  Grab it fast and you save a bundle (I have mine on the way!

When the Meadow Blooms by Ann H. Gabhart

If any place on God's earth was designed to help one heal, it is Meadowland. Surely here, at her brother-in-law's Kentucky farm, Rose and her daughters can recover from the events of the recent past--the loss of her husband during the 1918 influenza epidemic, her struggle with tuberculosis that required a stay at a sanatorium, and her girls' experience in an orphanage during her illness. At Meadowland, hope blooms as their past troubles become rich soil in which their faith can grow.

Dirk Meadows may have opened his home to his late brother's widow and her girls, but he keeps his heart tightly closed. The roots of his pain run deep, and the evidence of it is written across his face. Badly scarred by a fire and abandoned by the woman he loved, Dirk fiercely guards his heart from being hurt again. But it may be that his visitors will bring light back into his world and unlock the secret to true healing.

Bestselling author Ann H. Gabhart explores the tender places within the human heart in this character-driven story of trusting God to turn our burdens into something beautiful.
